New Vintage Slide Lampshade

Here is another one of my lampshades using a different kind of slide that my lovely friend, Carol Rosenthal found on ebay. They are 2.5″ vintage slides with glass plating and metal encasings. Up until now, I’ve been using the 35mm slides with cardboard encasings  so, this was a fun new experience.

The slides are from either the 50s or early 60s, taken by a family on a trip to Florida and the Henry Ford museum. The slides include scenes from Weeki Wachee Springs, Cypress Gardens park, the circus in Sarasota, FL, underwater mermaid performance shots and a couple from Niagara falls. The red tint is from the aging of the slides. the bottom ring holds the ones that turned green.

Oh my goodness. The lampshade you recently made of slides from Weeki Wachi Springs and other scenic locations around Florida is beautiful. I spent my childhood in that area and I would love to be able to own a lampshade that pays an homage toward it. Could I possibly purchase it?
